Soapy massage at Schiphol Airport when the morning is yours
Soapy massage begins in the bathroom with hot water and a thick foam, and moves from there. It is a warm and playful format, and like nuru it takes time: the preparation, the bathroom and the drying afterwards all belong to the booking. On this site it is recommended only for the first night with a late checkout, when the room is yours until midday and nothing needs to happen before breakfast. It is never a good choice before a dawn departure, and the reply will say so if you ask for one.
Where it comes from
Foam and bathing massage has a long history in bathhouse cultures from Turkey to Thailand. In the Turkish hammam an attendant works foam over the body with a cloth bag; in Thai bathhouses the same principle developed into a fuller massage. The soapy format keeps the foam and the warmth and adapts them to a hotel bathroom.
The technique
Foam is worked up in hot water and spread over the body, with broad strokes of the hands and body gliding on it. The foam cushions and warms, and the movement is slow. Rinsing is part of the session, not an afterthought, and she paces the booking so it has time.
What to expect
She brings towels, the foam and a mat for the bathroom floor, and begins by running hot water and warming the room. Before anything starts, she says where her limits are, and they hold throughout. The first part of the session takes place in the bathroom, with foam and warm water; the second often moves to the bed. She leaves time at the end for drying and tidying, so the booking finishes on the hour agreed.
Who it suits
The guest who has a room until late morning and nowhere to be. Two travellers opening a holiday with a slow night. Rooms with a bath or a walk-in shower. It does not suit a short night or a small shower cubicle.
Benefits
Hot water and foam relax the body in a way nothing else on the list does, and after a long flight in dry cabin air the warmth is especially welcome. It is also the format guests tend to describe as fun, which on the first night of a trip can be exactly the tone to set.
Length
Ninety minutes at EUR 270 is the practical minimum, and two hours at EUR 360 is better. It suits a room you keep until late morning. Airport bookings carry half the fee in advance and her journey out is agreed before the hour is fixed.

Questions
Asked before booking
Does my airport room need a bath?
A bath helps but is not essential. A walk-in shower with room for two works well. A very small cubicle does not, and the reply will suggest another format if that is what you have.
Why is soapy massage not recommended before an early flight?
It takes longer than it looks, with preparation, bathroom time and drying on top of the massage itself. On a night that has to end early, that time comes out of sleep.
Does she bring everything, or should I have anything ready?
She brings the foam, the towels and a mat. You only need hot water and a bathroom you can use.
Can soapy massage be combined with an overnight?
Yes. Within an eight hour overnight, the time can be used as you and she agree, and a soapy session early in the night is a common choice.
